well my friend and I ordered 2 motors from osaka. long story. not happy. bla bla bla... both of the turboes on the redtop are bad....

well anyway

a friend of mine who is doing the swap had an s14 t28 turbo from his s14. i bought it, for the farely cheap, and he is going to put it on there with the t25 wastegate thing (too technical, i dont know much about how internally wastegated turboes work)

he said run 7 lbs boost. so should everything be cool since i have a smic? any TIPS OR TRICKS!!! i should know about? good idea? i figured it would give me room for upgrade when i got fmic.

thx

u willbe fine to run stock boost with the SMIC one the t28 and u can probably get away with 10 psi aswell, remember that turbo did come stock on sr20s so its not like its a HUGE upgrade1, but to be safe keep her at stcok boost and u will not get detonation!

the compressor wheel on that t28 should be ceramic and.. the wheels tend not to be all that great on long term set ups. most people just buy the T28 with the metal compressor wheel.. it is more reliable.

just a fact

No, perhaps the turbine but I doubt that as well.

The RB25's had a composite compressor on one model, and a steel wheel on the other. Perhaps that is what you are thinking of.

wtf are you people talking about!!!??!! lol

the turbo is going to break down or its not good for the engine or what? it has like 30k miles on it. it was probably pretty much abused but its in good condition.

thx yall im glad itll be cool.

he is correct the s14 t28, skyline t28, and gtir t28 all use ceramic wheels, for the s15 model they went to the inconel wheel. the t28s are fine to use up to about 15-16psi anything above that your asking for problems

ah. the person who is doing the install said he would handle things like that. each motor had 3 injectors. he called them to get replacements but received notchtop injectors. I cant get in touch with him because he lives in the boonies with no cell phone reception and i am a good distance away at college. i hope everything is dealt with by this weekend when i come home
