assuming the 240sx is the same as the 200sx in the rest of the world (dont see why not) you'll be fine with half cut. no harness is needed however you may find that you'll need to hold onto the actual auto selector as it doesnt start unless in park. very easy to wire up, you dont need the whole selector, just the small switch it selects. for details see the 'guides' section on the trans swap on nissansilvia.com

my friend said i wont be able to use the clutch cylinder and such because the wiring for them is on the wrong side since its was right hand side drive, and i will need to find those parts from a junk yard to be able to do it. has anyone ever done a s14 sr20det swap into a 1998 240sx AUTO? if there is someone please tell me detail on what u exactly did if its not too much of a hassle.

thanks alot again in advance for any help

I recently did a auto to manual swap on an sr20 so maybe I can shed somelight. The front clip should come with most of the parts needed for the auto to manual (clutch master and slave, clutch lines, pedels, and ofcourse transmission) You'll need to find a propeller shaft from a 5-speed 240sx, since the 5-speed one is shorter. That should do it, wiring is fairly easy, there are plenty of diagrams/how-tos on the internet.

so the clutch master and slave cylinders from the sr20det front clip would work on the 240? (keep in mind s14 front clip and 1998 s14 240sx)
