As you can see by my sig, i have an s13 with 5lug and s14 wheels.other non-s13 parts in the wheelwells: S14 spindles (front/back)S14 lower balljoints (front)# Tokico Blue shocks/struts# Generic Coilover sleeves/springs - Guessing this is the previous owners cheap way of fixing clearance/rubbing issues with wider tires.

in addition, for the BrakesZ32 calipersZ32 rotors (front)S14 rotors (back)

I really really really want to get rid of those tokico blues and generic ****. about 25-30k on them. So im starting to do some research.

What are the differences between s14 and s13 coilovers or spring&strut combos? while shopping for new (or used- im on a budget)suspension should i even be looking at s14 stuff?

My car is a daily driver with lots of spirited driving. I just want to eliminate some wheelgap and a slight ride improvement.

Ive read that coilovers, even entry level, are overkill for daily drivers. Im used to the low quality ride of my current setup so anything should be improvement.

If i were to pick out a set of lowering springs with aftermarket struts, will the fronts be fat like stock springs? or more like coilovers. Or does it depend on the struts/mounts? I cant just buy lowering springs for a 92 240sx. Im a little confused how you can buy lowering springs to fit on your stock struts. Is there then a universal lowering spring you can get to fit aftermarket struts? (again, that arent fat)

From what i understand I will need to get spacers for pretty much anything i put up front (at least) Even with the current setup there is barely any room between springs and tires. (I know i cant have those stock fat springs) I like to run 225/50/16 instead of 205/55/16 because the wider tire helps protect my painted rims (pluss looks better) although my winter rims (unpainted S14se rims) i run the appropriate 205/55/16 winter tires (since skinnier is better in snow)

Will i need to get longer wheel studs if i get spacers to?

While im on the topic of tires, let me go off on that for a sec. Currently my summer rims are in the basement, i have 4 bald summertires on them and need to get new summer tires. I also ahve 2 mismatched brands 205/55/16 tires (came with the 2nd set of rims i bought used) all season tires with id say 60% tread. Since im on a budget id like to put these 2 on on my summer rims and just get 2 new summer tires for the other 2. However I cant make up my mind if i wnat them in the front or back.If i put them on the front-205/55 on front and buy new 225/50 for the rear-more clearance up front -wider tire in back (like it should be?)If i put them on the rear-used tires i dont care about that i can burn off-then do i get wide tires for front that i can later rotate to the back after the old ones wear out.

anyway back to the suspension parts...I just wantto replace current setup - anything will be betterlower rideno camber wear on tiresfor everything to fit (most likely need spacers)Under budget -

Well i really like that i bought the car with some suspension work allready done, but its really turning out to be a headache to fix someonesles project. :DOH
