Hi guys,

After going out and buying a 12" Subwoofer, I then looked in my trunk and realized there was wayyyy less room then I first thought... (And I didn't think that was much to begin with). So I'm stuck with some 12" Subs, and I thought I'd put at least one to good use, but could find no way to fit it in that little shelf area behind my seats. Soo this was the only way I could figure to fit a 12" Sub in the back of a S14, while using the shelf area.

I've never made anything like this before, so it might be a bit of a challenge. And before I start, I want to know if you guys think it's even viable.

The sub will be facing a 45" angle downwards. Is this going to have a major negative impact on the sound, although subs are non-directional?? Will the shape of the box have any impact on the sound? From what I've read, I just need 2" behind the magnet, and enough volume area, but it never said if the shape has any effect..

I've attached a pic of a rough sketch. It's a side view. Tell me what you think..

James

Shape does affect sound quality/output a bit, but probably not enough to be worth messing with unless you're an audiophile.

No problem facing it the direction you mentioned

i have (2) 12" mtx subs in the corners of my trunk by the taillights. Ill have to post pics later today since im at work now.

there are minor problems like boxes sliding (not bolted down), blocking jack, on top of spare tire board (cut pieces under sub boxes), and blocking talilight access.

my amps are mounted on piece of 3/4 mdf wood on top of gas tank for now.
