I've been reading around on here, and it sounds like strut tower bars are a worthwhile upgrade, soo...

I'm looking for some reasonably priced ones. I've read where certain designs can still flex due to the way the bar mounts to the brackets. Read here: zerothread?id=114479

I don't want to deal with any of that flexing crap, so a bar that doesn't do that would be ideal.

Also, I have a custom sub box that extends onto the little "shelf/step" thing in the trunk; it extends right up to the backseat. Therefore, any rear strut bar I get will have to mount above the package shelf. Not sure if there are any out there that go below the package shelf, but I seem to remember reading about one on here...oh well, whatever.

I don't really care how pretty the things are, I just want them to work well and not cost an arm and a leg. Any suggestions you guys have would be great.

Yeah.... hinged bars suck and don't do much. Get a solid one.

Best and cheapest solid bar is the DC sports bar. I have them from and rear.

However, don't bother getting strut tower bars unless you have coilover suspension, becuase you won't really feel the difference, and it will not be worth the money.

Hmmm. I just have the Eibach Pro-Kit and KYB AGX shocks/struts. Probably not worth it? Or would I see an improvement?

Eibach springs are pretty much worthless from a performance standpoint.

Yeah, it wouldn't be worth it. Upgrading your sway bars is a different story though, and would help handling a lot.

Haha, come on now, the Eibachs aren't that bad. The car at least feels a bit tighter than stock. Anyway, I bought them a long time ago so it's too late now...

So what sway bar brands are favored on here? Same as before - looking for good quality but don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

Whiteline or progress. Both are quality and adjustable, which is key.
