s14 sr20det wont rev past 1500 rpm

I am new to the 240 scene but i have a 95 240sx with a recently swapped s14 sr20det. it cranks up fine. The air to fuel ratio stays where it should at idle between 14.5 and 15.3. It revs fine with the air to fuel ratio staying pretty much where it should maybe a little lean tho, but once it gets up to temperature for about five minutes, and you press on the throttle it will only rev to 1500 rpm then act like it hits a limiter and drop back to 1000 rpm and it will do this repeatedly as long as you are giving it throttle and as long as the car is on. Keep in mind the car still idles fine with the a/f ratio staying where it should. If you turn the car off while it is doing this and turn it back on within 10 seconds or so it will still have the problem. If you wait any longer than 30 seconds, the problem goes away and it revs fine for a couple minutes then the problem comes right back. maf is good, pretty sure o2 is good. no idiot lights are on.

i noticed u have a z32 maf.. do you have a safc or a tuned ecu for it?

i have neither. Is this likely the problem? which of these would you recommend?

try plugging in a stock maf and see if it fixes it. you cant run a different maf without a way to compensate for the differences.

if the stock maf works then i got an safc for sale to make the z32 maf work

got the same issue. 5 mins runs good, after fall into some mode -- wont rev past 1500 (NOT LIKE MAF, i disconnect maf and it wont rev past 2,800-3, some minutes later it wont rev 1500).

I have daughterboard installed, with jap rom inside.

Original ecu is 82f14, i put 82f00 rom to eliminate immobilizer.

I was thinking that it rom problem. BUT. I put THIS ecu with 82f00 to another s14a (full stock) -- it works fine. Any inputs? In limp mode car runs fine, just not rev past 1500.
