I finished putting in my S14 sr20det into my 95 s14, and I added a fmic, exhaust, 255lph fuel pump, and bov. I had a few problems getting it running, but it runs great now under low throttle, but under hight throttle it dies right out, and back fires like crazy. I have an safc II wired in b/c I originally had a z32 maf installed, but found out it was shot so put the stock one back on. To add to the problem, it'll boost great and pull hard when you first start it up and run it, and from time to time. It boosts to 7 psi constantly ( I don't have the boost silinoide hooked up), but it's like it isn't getting enough fuel, or too much b/c it's like it isn't using the boost. I'm not familiar w/ how to use an safc, and tried tuning to spec, but reset it b/c it only made things worse. If I unhook the safc it runs terrible. the in and out are set to 0 0 in the hot wire sensor. any help would be great.

In and out on the hot wire are supposed to be 5 and 5. 0 and 0 means that the engine is running the totally wrong MAFS. The car runs bad without the SAFC installed because you are unhooking the MAFS signal when you take it out. Read the manual before you mess with electronics that can damage your engine.

As stated, I read but didn't full comprehend, the settings for the z32 maf were set at 2 and 5, but seeming it was a bad maf didn't work, I set it at 5 and 5, but it didn't seem to like it. Either way though, I will set it at 5 and, my next question is if I shoud adjust the fuel curve or not if its running stock? thanks much.

What is the MAFS serial number? Should be 22680-?????

Also did you install the MAFS intercept signal for the SAFC using the yellow and white wires?

I wouldnt mess with any of the fuel settings until the car is running properly.

from what you said you didnt seem to wire the safc right and the 0 0 settings are wrong as he said above.

Rewire your SAFC and check everything. If still running bad check and see if the MAF is bad.
