Hey guys, I have a Kouki S14 SR clip that I am using to swap into my USDM S14. I can find tons of info on the S13 swaps, but not much on S14's.

Still, I know there are folks out there who have done lots of these swaps, and I am hoping I can get some help to speed up my swap.

Anyone know of a place to find a wiring walk through (what to cut, where, etc.)? I can figure it out with the FSM, but it obviously won't be as quick as someone who has done it before helping me out. Also, I read a lot about the heater hose thing, but I don't think it really applies to the S14's. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks in advance for any info or suggestions you can provide! Oh, and if there are any other places to get the info, please send me there...even if it costs a little, it will be worth it if it saves me time!

Thanks again,Matt.

Thanks man! I found it and I think this will be a great help!

My SR clip has ABS (so it's in the SR harness) and the KA doesn't. Does that matter? Should I just leave the ABS stuff disconnected???

The heater hose situation doesn't apply to the s14 motor. You'll have to jiffy something though as there isn't a hose that fits directly. As for the ABS stuff, leave it disconnected. I'd even leave those wires pinned out of the harness so there isn't an idiot light on. If you want some good help or even someone to do the wiring for you, contact yury at wiringspecialties.com. Awesome tech support and a great guy to talk with/ do business with.Good luck man.

Thanks for the help guys! I just finished wiring the main stuff up tonight. Things work fine so far, and it has spark so I'm happy. I don't think it's building fuel pressure but I'll dig into that tomorrow. There were a bunch of left over wires after I was done, many of them had matching colors on both the SR and KA harness, but I think they were for things I don't need like CONSULT, and there's the ABS wires I didn't use too. I'd like to know what they all are. I'll make a post if I don't get it all figured out tomorrow, but I have to thank you guys for your time and advice...I wouldn't have accomplished so much today without it!!!

I tried to contact Wiringspecialities but I'm not getting any response from them. I'm sure they'll get back to me, but I might be finished by then (hopefully)!!!

Any other tips in the mean time???

Well, I got it to run...for a second or two. The fuel pump is not getting the ground signal from the ECU, and the injectors are not getting a pulse signal either. If I power or ground the wire at the ECU, the fump will come on and the injectors will open, but the ECU is not sending the signal. So, all the wiring seems to be fine but I think the ECU is bad.

Can anyone tell me how I can be sure? I'm in Atlanta and I'd like to let someone else try my ECU in their car if they have another S14 SR, but I know finding someone is not as easy as it sounds.

Well that helps for the dash, but what about everything else? There really isn't much info at all on the s14 into s14 swap. I've searched countless times, so I know. I'm starting the wiring today on my s14 kouki sr into my s14 kouki, so I guess I'll find out soon enough. The only thing I have wired in at this time is the wiper motor. I didn't have to wire in the wiper amplifier as my engine package came with a jdm one.

The heater hoses don't line up. I just trimmed my sr hoses, and rotated them a bit, and they fit fine. Make sure that you don't have a kink in them. I also had to trim the power steering hose that goes from the usdm reservoir to the sr pump. The line from the pump to the rack bolted right up. If you are running a'c then you'll have to get the sr compressor ends spliced onto the ka a/c lines that go to your condenser and a/c evaperator core in your dash. The s14 ka compressor will not bolt up, so if you want ac, then this mod is needed. I'm actually picking up my lines today from a hose shop, so I will try to take some pics. Clutch slave cyl bolts right up too.

Thanks guys.

I got it to run...sort of. I found that there were 2 wires connected incorrectly for the fuel pump and injectors. Now it will run, but not idle. It's making a knock noise too...maybe related or not. I don't have the intake back together so I think the idle issue could be due to vacuum leak. I'll finish up the IC piping and connect all the vacuum lines properly before I go any further with wiring. I also think there could be a problem with the wiring for the IAC that could be the cause though. I wish there was some SOLID info on swapping the S14 SR into an S14. Seems like this shouldn't be the hardest swap to get info on, but everyone has a friggin S13 SR or they're installing an S14 SR into an S13!!!

I figured out the heater hoses just like you said. Seems fine. Also, found that I have to use the SR A/C compressor. I was going to wait and take the whole car to get lines made, but you're right...I can just take the ones off my car and my clip and get the ends switched. Nice.

I'm confident that with all the help avaiable online I'll get it going...but I'M SO DAMN ANXIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lemmie know if there is anyone in the ATL area that wants to come help a guy out!

Good luck to all...

i'm trying to do some research and i was wondering if there is any mechanical issues, besides the ones stated above. for example does the sr20det turbo dump pipe bolt direct to the exhaust of the usdm s14? does the power steering have to be changed or is that just for the s13?

or you can build some custom brackets like i did and use the ka compressor without discharging it.
