Ive recently had a shop do a swap. S14 into an S13 240sx. I know very little about this motor but I learn very quickly. One issue I cant seem to get around is where the sensors are. Ive spotted the exhaust sensor but thats about it, and the only reason I found that was because it was in my way while installing the hyper ground system. Ive been all over this engine since I got it back, and still can't seem to locate these sensors. I bought a 3pack gauge setup (voltage, water, oil pressure) and Im dying to install them so I can at least know what the water temp is at while running the car.

exhaust sensor? do you mean o2 sensor?

voltage can be tapped to any eletrical source, such as your ignition wire

water temp, some argue that it needs to be before radiator, some argue after radiator, problem with when it's after radiator, you are measure how effective the radiator is and not how hot the motor is. anyways, you need an adapter like below, cut the hotside radiator hose and install this fitting, you can get it from spl or greddy has its own version

oil pressure, you can just replace your oil pressure sensor assuming it's the right size, it shoudl be near or very close to your oil filter

Thanks, I think part of the problem is the stock turbo piping is all over the place and everything looks so jammed in that engine compartment that its impossible to find anything.

Im hoping to resolve some of this issue with electric fans on the radiator and a front mount intercooler which will be arriving shortly.

did you buy the eletric fan already?

I personally recommend you to keep the stock fan but install the temp sensor... wait until next summer and see how it is

a few people hvae koyo/fal eletrical fans/fmic and we are having over heatin issues

I suggest you to do some research and see for yourself if you really need the fans

I think the problem is caused by the fmic, where it block air to the ac condensor and the radiator

the Fluidyne is said to be a much better radiator than the Koyo, Ive heard that from many, many 240 owners. Im not exactly sure what the heat range should be on this car, but the guy who did the swap for me (and who has been doing them for over 6 years) said I will NEVER overheat with this particular radiator as long as the rest of the cooling system is up to par. I did find the manual for the S14 Silvia written in english and I think Ive located the temp sensor on the car, but right about now I wish I had arms like a snake because getting to it looks impossible without removing several components :/Along with getting to it Im tinkering with the idea of trying to just throw an aftermarket gauge on it just to see if it would work, knowing my luck not, and Ive heard that the stock sensors are not as accurate.

Oh and I actually do have one of those Greddy coolant pipe connector sensor housings things, and those pipes are just a tiny bit too big for the stock S14 hoses, it looks like it will fit, but an hour, and very sore hands later I discovered that it wasnt going to happen. So I got ripped off on some shaped hoses that will fit the sensor housing and when I got them on the car they were so much bigger than the radiator fitting and the block fitting that the hoses started to blow up like balloons. Seriously, I thought they were going to burst. So I threw the stock hose back on, and am still running around blind to my water temp
