i was racing and when i got home i notice my car overheating and it started making noise like if it was knocking.. but i drove it again and noticed the vct wasn't working.. how and where can i replace that?? i read that u can put parts to eliminate it?? if anyone has any parts for sale lmk.. email me at [email protected] with any info thanks

Personally I wouldn't remove it, because you get quite a bit of low-end torque from it.

You can use the VCT solenoid from a Q45 IIRC.

What exactly dose overheating have to do with the vtc? I would not say my vtc sounds like rod knock but I can hear a click on above 1k rpm, and a second click off when it drops below(is this what you are hearing)?

i did a compression test and they all read 135 through 150 except number 4 it read 60... if the vtc is messed up does it mess with the compression??

All the vtc dose is change the timing of the intake cam. You can run without vtc if you want, but it dose provide more low end torque.
