First things first I have a 95 s14 with stock s14 sr20 and stock t28 set up.
Recently the car started making a knocking/taping/slaping noise(not really sure which it is). It only does this when the car is at an idle, but not when the car is first started unless it has been running recently. It doesnt make any noise when during regular driving or rpm over 1.5k or 2k. It also will make the noise if the car has been running and i go to make a complete stop it will start. It seems to to not make any noise basically when Im on the gas, even if i barely touch the pedal, but i have to hold it for it there. During regular driving it sounds perfectly fine.
Im not exactly whats causeing this weather its the vtc, lifters, or sloppy chain due to bad timing chain tensioner.
I apologise for in in specifics im just not sure where to start, if it was a knock wouldnt it get worst or louder with rpm? I dont have any way to record video, any input would be much appreciated thank you.
