s14 sr20det into s13 chassis

Hey, all. I spent the last 15 minutes searching.. here AND google.. and I can't find a straight answer to what I need. I even pulled up a thread that is very recent, but wasn't clear enough.

I might have an opportunity to get an S14 sr20det that would go into my s13 chassis. I was able to find a wiring guide for an S13 sr20det going into an S13 chassis. My question is.. Is there any difference between the S13 motor and the S14 motor's wiring or is it the same?

It is different than an S13 into S13. S14 wiring is different.

yeah it's different, and harder to do going into the s13.

The only hard thing about it is the wiring and its not really any harder than S13 to S13, it just happens to be harder to find info on how to do it.

There are some minor things to remember like switching the speed sensors so that the speedo reads correctly. And the intercooler piping gets a little weird, I think you are supposed to locate S13 piping. S14 piping into an S13 can be a headache.

Here is a pic of the harness needed to put an S14 SR into an S13. My friend made it in about 40 minutes. With the S14 engine harness already on the engine and untouched this conversion harness is all that you would need to make it run right.

Where did you find the info on what to splice to where? Or is it the same as S13 to S13 at that point.. just matching colors?

My friend has a notebook with tons of info and wiring guides. He can wire about any Nissan engine into any Nissan so he did it off the top of his head. The colors are not the same. however it is easier to put an S14 SR into an S13 than it is to put an S13 SR into an S14 because S13 240SX owners dont have to worry about the windshield wiper wiring. There are a couple guides floating around this forum, none I remember off the top of my head.

hell id love to find a diagram , write up , or how to .... if i dont find something soon im going to part out my 240 . ive had the s14 sitting in my car over a year and still dont have the wiring done yet .... everyone says search , ive searched for a long time and im not any further ahead of the game .
