Ok, so i searched for white smoke, and it doesnt apply. Heres what i am experiencing. Ill go WOT in and I will look in rear view mirror and see a haze of smoke, almost like a polluting car but not as heavy. Is that normal? I must admit I hardly ever went WOT on my KA. When idling and motoring around theres no smoke. Also when shifting hard from 1-2 or 2 to 3rd i feel a bump and hear a thump, and the noise is coming from the rear of the car. kind of like im leaving my rear axle behind? Or maybe my rear suspension? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you had this car emissions tested or tuned?

It could be a bad o2 sensor for the smoke, your pooping when you shift gears is really wierd. I don't know anything about those transmissions =(

if you haven't gotten it tuned, and you did bigger injectors you might just be running rich, that produces a THICK black/brown smoke (it depends how rich, i was running 4% over state permissed )

the thump coming from the back might mean you need new rear bushings

Sounds like rear sub frame bushings are bad. And the smoke could be fuel if it black and if white its oil, if its sweet smelling and bluish green haze its coolant. Coolant means Blown HG, Oil burn could be turbo seals or rings or small HG problem. Or it could just be carbon burning.
