I have an s14 sr20det but i do not have the ecu. I have searched and have not found a sure way to tell the difference between a kouki and zenki motor, and i heard also that there is a chuki s14 motor? I know how to tell the ecu's apart, but not the harness and engine. supposedly there is a difference in the maf connector or the way the oil cap closes tight?? Any help would be greatly appreciated before i go and spend $200+ on a stock ecu. Thanks.

i would love to knoe the same thing....

i have a notchtop s14 engine, and my ECU is a BLACK "WC" one, which as far as i can research is from the chuki.

BUT the chuki is supposed to have the kouki or s15 MAF (oval plug) and mine has the rectangular one.

I'll keep a watch to see what comes out of this one...

bump...

did you ever find anything out? i'm tryin to figgur out the same thing.... i think i got the wrong maf, it didnt have ANY connector plug, just straight wires running to the individual pins on the MAF itself.

i'd like to find a definite way to determine engine age, as i dont know wheter i got the wrong ecu, wrong maf, or both ?!? because the ecu that i have is supposed to be on the engines with the kouki maf, but i DONT have an oval connector on my maf.
