Hi guys,

I'm new to the whole engine management parts of cars and I wanted to know your opinions on whether I'll need a standalone of whether a fuel controller/ignition controller will suffice? I've also been looking into getting a Nistune daughterboard

Quick overview of the build
-Precision 5858SP
-Tial 38mm EWG
-BC 264/264 cams
-Adjustable cam gears
-BC springs/valves/retainers
-Nismo 740cc injectors
-Walbro 255lph fuel pump
-V-mount intercooler

I'm hoping to be running around 350whp on this setup until I can build the bottom end

Thanks for reading and all info and opinions are appreciated! Like I said, I'm a newb when it comes to engine management

Cheers,
Connor

You can run anything from a stand-alone to a ecu flash daughter-board setup. Just depends on if you want to deal with a mail order tune, or have someone local do your tune on a dyno (always better). And if the latter, what they are familiar tuning with, etc. Also how much control you want and how much money you want to spend. ha ha.

Thanks for the reply!

I actually ended up getting an awesome deal on a used Power FC off Yahoo Auctions Japan! It's even tuned to almost the exact same setup just a different turbo (GT3076 vs my 5857) And since I'm only going to be running ~5lbs of boost during the break in, I don't seem any problems. It will be getting retuned later when I up the boost to somewhere around 16lbs
