First off I know that the sr is for "offroad use only", Illegal, etc.

I've also done multiple searches on different search engines, and none have really answered my questions.

I was just wondering if anybody in the Reno area of Nevada has had the swap done, and passed emissions.

From what I've watched during my smog tests on my cars (91 BMW 318is, 1985 Corolla GTS) They just open the hood, connect the rev counter to the plug wires, and look under the car for a cat, then does the sniffer test.

I would like to get a 1995-1996 240sx se and eventually do a s14 sr swap on the car, but I am a little concerned about this, because all I hear is trouble getting the car passed in california.

I'm also concerned if the OBDII is used for the inspection, cause I don't have a car with it. my parents 1995 and 1996 camry were smogged without having them plug the diagnostic in, shouldn't they have been OBDII also?

Any valid info and educated opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You have a red top in an s14 that had OBDII? or is in an s13?

We don't do a rolling road emissions test in Reno, but thank you for the reply

get a 95 s14 as they are not obdII. I have a 96 and it is obdII but think I am going to have jimwolf reprogram my stock ecu to run the sr20det, and get sr20de distributor and plugs wires.
