s14 sr20 OBD2?

I've searched this topic, and besides a bunch of alternative smoggine methods, I havn't seen the answer for this yet. Do s14 notchtop sr20det ECU's comply with OBD2? I'm wanting to know if you swap a s14 sr20 into a OBD2 s14, will the OBD system still work? My local mechanic is an inspector and all he needs to do is hook up to OBD system and verify no codes, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

OBDII system won't work. OBDII was a US thing. You basically replace the engine harness and etc and don't use any of the OBDII stuff.

the sr20 is OBD1 only. although, with some creative wiring ,maybe a rom flash, and an obd2 ECU you could probably find a way to spoof a scanner.

He was just stating a theoretical situation of how to make the engine OBD2. Its not actually feasible or likely to convert anything JDM to OBD2.

yeah, i was speaking hypothetically. and if it is even possible, that would not convert your sr20 to OBD2, it would be bsing it.
