S14 SR with strange knocking inssue... thoughts please!

Hey guys, I've had my SR for a few years now and recently it started knocking. Strange knocking. It'll only knock from 3.5k to 4.5k and only if it's between 10% and 75% throttle. If I let it cruise and just give it enough gas to keep my speed with my rpm in the 3.5 to 4.5k rpm band then it doesn't knock and if I go for more then 75% throttle through that RPM band, it does not knock either. Anyone have any ideas?

Other than this, the car boost just fine, it's at 10psi right now. Car drives perfectly, no hesitation, no backfire, just perfect. Rev's perfectly through out the whole RPM band. This is driving me nuts. Thanks for any thoughts on this guys.

Sorry for the old post being raising the dead...Same as mine S15 SR it knocks around 1000 to 2000 RPM range 1st & 2nd ONLY. Why is that???

Maybe the Chain Tensioner? just sound like the SE-R when they knock dealership change the Chain Tensioner usually. I am not sure if this is true??
