S14 SR in S13....No Spark....help please!

a buddy of mine had an S14 SR installed somewhere in Fayetville, NC and they royally screwed him over. Im in the process of cleaning up after them. I had the car running great...but never actually test drove it...got the chance to test drive the car and it maybe ran for 1/8th of a mile if that. The car would idle like a charm but after that short little run Im not getting any spark what so ever. Ive checked everything i know to check....wiring, ignitor, etc, etc, etc...still nothin. Could the ECU be bad?? Im stumped...
