Well, I finally went to dyno the SR I paid through the arse to own. I was not to happy. I was unable to get a true pull because of the darn speed limiter..I put down

[email protected] torque numbers....170ftlb@2900rpm...

Whats that all about? My car runs great (I smash all kinds of cars on the freeway). The guys dynoing my car kept hitting the speed limiter and I believe this severely hampered by ability to get a good pull. I need a Power FC. period.

The only info that was interesting, was the A/F readings I got...The news? the car is running well under boost, with A/F's around 11.2-10.8...not bad...

I wish I could have gotten a true pull...

I assume these were 4th gear pulls? You should've had em do it in 3rd if not. I like running my car on the dyno myself. That does seem a bit week. I hit 170 and 183 on 4 PSI and detonationg like hell. (its all in the tuning) Dyno's do differ so dont worry about it too much, alot of the guys here will tell you thats right on for a stock SR. Dyno's are fun. Whats the limiter at 115? on the S14? Cool man, good numbers, keep it up.

Yea limiter is 115...I even was hitting it in 3rd gear! In addition, this was a mustang dyno, and from what I heard, usually returns numbers about 10-15% lower than a Dynojet...But who knows...I was expecting in the 220 range off a full sweep...

what transmission and rearend combo do you have? you shouldn't hit 115 in 3rd...

You have a BPU and S15 turbo... you should be making ~250rwhp @ 15 psi on a Mustang dyno.

I'd try another dyno.

I wasn't running 15psi, maybe 10-11 tops...Could this be a reason? My A/f's looked fabulous...

Even at 10-11psi you should be putting down MUCH more power. Ive seen T25s at 7psi put down 185-190whp. You should at least be in the 210-220whp range.. I'd try another dyno, if it's still that low figure out what's wrong with it.

You got the torque crazy low.. w00t

I think I may have found the problem...Here goes, I was changing sparkplugs and found that my two rear sparkplug "wells" had oil in them...I guess it was leaking through the valvecover "O" ring gaskets. You know the ones in the middle od the valve cover...My plugs looked great on the first two cylinders but were kinda black and covered in oil on the last two...Could this be a reason???

If you are saying that the car is hitting the speed limiter I don't think that is the problem. It sounds more like the problem the KA has: when the fifth gear sensor goes bad, the car hits the speed limiter in all gears. You may want to look at the wiring on the lower harness. Is it hooked up?

That would cause misfiring slightly, and possibly detonation.

As for the power you made... thats about on par with what you should make on 10 psi. Mustang dynos are a load type dyno, not an accelerometer type so they will read about 10-15% less power than a comparable Dynojet.

A/F's around 11.2 - 10.8 aren't good for an SR... typically VG's run in that range when they are wanting to run very safe. Move the A/F's up to about 11.8 - 12.2 and you will see a good gain.

on a dynojet @ 7lbs i made 205rwhp/195rwtq. Dont what what a/f were. I hit the rpm limiter at 6500rpm and the guy said i could have squeezed a bit more if the speed limiter didnt kick in because the curve was still rising.

i did mine this weekend and with 11psi on stock turbo i got 218whp and 224wtq. You shouldnt be hitting your rev limiter at 5900, i went up to 7k and didnt hit mine. its supposed to be set at 7500. how much boost were u running? do u have a different fuel pump/regulator?

Quick correction based on some other info I obtained. When I looked at my last 4th gear pull, I noticed that what the graphs said and what my printout said were different. Basically I have peak power (before limiter) occuring at 5600rpm, and I made 192hp...this makes more sense...

As far as the A/F's, those numbers were at around the same rpm range...so this is bad?
