Like the subject says, I'm wondering if the S14's SR cams are compatable with the S13 SR. Anyone know for sure?

i don't see why they wouldn't. Only the intake cam sprocket is different between the two I believe

crap...just checked out Tomei, and HKS page to see if the intake cams are different, yeah they're different on the intake cam only. The exhaust cam's the same though. Although JUN does have remarks saying that their cams are usable on s14's and s15's but the cam sprocket must be changed to the s13 sprockets. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Tenkawa

well I'm not sure if it's specific to JUN only cams. The cams I'm planning on switching to are HKS and they've got them listed as different products.

http://www.junauto.co.jp/produ...ml?en

that's the jun page, if you check out the 2nd asterisk under "lash type" then you'll see the comment about the s13 sprocket on the s14/s15 cams.

But HKS and Tomei both have (more specifically HKS cuz that's what I'm trying to get my grubby mits on) have them listed as different products.

2202-RN085 that's the part number for the HKS 256 intake cam for s13 and 2202-RN087 is the part number for the HKS 256 intake cam for s14/15. That's what's throwing me off.

Maybe I'll just have to be a guinea pig on this...dammit...

I still believe that there's no difference between the two generation's camshafts. I unfortunately can't call up Nissan and get the OEM part numbers to verify that. If you're buying this for an S14, and you plan on getting HKS cams, play it safe and get the S14 version. They're the same price as the S13 256 cams at Heavy Throttle.

nah getting them used. enough people are selling their hks cams for me to get em at around 300, better than the 400 that alot of shops are asking for. Hence the question about using the s14 cams in an s13 motor. lol

Found out s14/s15 cams that are built for VTC are offset by about 10 degrees from s13 cams. So looks like s14 sr intake cams are a no go for s13 sr's unless it's a JUN or newer Tomei cams.
