I just picked up the voltmeter/oilpressure/boost gauge cluster off of ebay a few days ago. After searching forever, I have found almost no information on how to get this thing to work. All the wires are listed out on the back of the gauges, so thats not a problem, I just need to know what volt range the oil and boost gauge run off of (0v-5v?) and if a 300zx TT oil pressure and boost sensor would work. What would I need to tap to get the voltmeter to work? Thanks.

p.s. if anyone wants an super awesome JDM dorifto tape deck, shoot me an email

1.To hookup volt meter:Take the 2 black wires and ground them both out.Which on the stock stereo is grey.I used t taps to hook them up.

2.Take the red/blue wire and hookup to the red/blue wire on the stereo for illumination.

3.Take the green wire and hook up to the blue wire for volt meter.

To hook up the oil pressure you need a z32 oil sending unit.Install that and hook up the yellow/red wire to it.You will have to run a wire to the oil sending unit from the gauge.Just take out the stock oil sending unit and replace it with the z32 one.

To hook up the boost you need boost sensor on a rhd front clip. You probaly hook it up to a aftermarket boost gauge if you had one i dont have turbo so i havent tried.

BY THE WAY THEY ALL RUN OFF 12VOLT THERES NO DIFFERENCE IN JDM AND USDM ALL 12VOLT.Heres a link for more info : http://forums.freshalloy.com/u...65308

You rock.I searched freshalloy too and didn't find anything. maybe because it was under the climate control thread? anyways, thanks for the info. I probably won't run the boost gauge for a while since im not turbo'd either.

Minus the gauges, thats exactly how my car started out. How do you like the S.techs? after a year i'm gettin tired of my springs/struts, want to get the tein flex coilovers.

back on topic, do you know if a s13 boost sensor will work? I can get one for 10 bucks. even if it just measures vacume, it would be nice to have the boost gauge work.

just won a z32 oil sender on ebay, so that should be in soon. i love it when a plan comes together

I got the gauges in and the voltmeter hooked up, works great so far. I recieved a 300zx oil sending unit monday (got in on one from ebay at the last min I guess I will wait till I change my oil next to swap oil sending units and wire that mess up. one last question, when i get my hands on a boost sensor, do i just ground out the neg plug and run the positive to the gauge? I'm not sure exactly how that works. Thanks again

oh and I don't have a turbo yet but i figure i'd at least hook up the sensor and watch the gauge work on the vacume side. i know, i'm lame
