Ok some of you may know, My S14 had an appitite for my upper wireing harness that goes thru the wheel well.

turns out the tire tore thru the harness and stripped some wires shorting out a number of them.

I spent the day redoing the harness and repairing it, replaced blown fuses, then rerouted the harness out of the wheel well.

unfortunatly, some things are still screwed up. what lead me to discover the problem was that the speedo, and meters on the right side ofthe dash were no longer working...

as of today they still no longer operate, I only have water temp and tach.

Im curious what could be the problem, im wondering if the dash itself could be fried?and i know that S13's are notorious for having their speedos crap out on them. something of a "speedo head" going bad, but i never heard of it happening to an S14

I also have a problem with ilde right now, the car needed a lil give to get it to start without stalling, and once started voltage read around 12 till you reved it then boosted to 14, then would usually slowly drop off unless you were moving.

after driving about 15 min the car would idle in the garage around 450-500 rpmmy mechanic turned the idle up a smidge to normal. but its temporary.I had thought my alt. was on its way out all summer but everyone else i spoke to said the alt was fine and i was parinoid. could the alt have been affected by a ground draining it of all its power or something?

any ideas? im allmost half tempted to just take the car to the shop and say "fix it"

but I HATE doing that
