I often wondered how to go about this "conversion" which is almost more alluring than a front end conversion for us s13 guys. Do you have to drill holes in the pillar behind the front windows to mount the top part of the belt? anyone have pics of it done to there s13?

Well when i look at the nissanperformancemag. They didn't say anything on drilling. all i saw them do was take of the plastic panel and bolt the seat belt on. Mabie there is more then meets the eye but we will see this wed when i get paid.

ive done this conversion and I thought it was simple. The bolt threads are already there behind the plastic panel, you do have to cut a hole in the stock plastic to bring the bolt through. I got a new longer bolt, its an sae size I cant remeber which one if you search some you might find it. here is a pic of the spacers I needed to bring it outside the plastic.

very carfully i used a torch to heat and bend the plastic to allow space for the seat belt to pass through

looks stock besides the gap for the power sliders, you do have to make a hole in the carpet for the lower belt mounting point again the threaded hold is there but unused. I removed all the power stuff the sliders and both reels computer and wiring and there is some significant weight in all the parts combined.

I got my belts off ebay, but if you can find an s14 at the junk yard you'll be set. Besides the belts the only thing I had to get was the bolt and the 2 spacers the black spacer in the picture comes on the belts.

That's the cleanest manual belt conversion I've ever seen. Great job!

my question is. It looks like its just dangling there in the back... Or is that just stretching it out so you can get it through the panel and through the bracket up top?

Anyone know if the 180sx seat belt bolts right in without any modifications? I saw it at the junkyard. Here is a pic.

Aproximately what size would the bolt up top be any guess in metric if you cant remember the sae? reason I ask is if you crash its going to pull real hard on the bolt, and with it sticking away from the frame like that it kind of looks like it could snap the bolt...
