i just bought a s14 se. checked the model number and apparently if it has a vlsd there will be an 18th digit thats an A. and my model number only has 15 digits. but someone told me that all 5 lug 240's are vlsd. so who can expand on this?

No, all s14 5-lugs do not have the VLSD. This only came as an option. Look on the diff for a orange sticker above the fill hole that will indicate the VLSD option or jack up the rear and spin one wheel. If the transmission is in neutral, both wheels will rotate in the same direction. If the transmission in gear, the wheel that you are not spinning will rotate in the opposite direction from the wheel that you are spinning. Hope this helps.
