I am helping a friend with his S14sr into an S14, and we've hit a problem. The car cranks, gets fuel, but absolutely no spark. I tested his ignitor on my SR and it works fine, I hit the plugs to the coil packs with the test lamp and there is a ground, a constant, and when he turns the key the other wire causes the test lamp to flash like it should, but there is still no spark. I removed a plug and coil pack, grounded the plug and it didn't spark. I removed the plug, put my test lamp in the end of the coil pack, and it didn't light when we cranked the car.

So from what I can tell, we are getting power, and signal to the coils, but nothing out of them. I can't however, imagine all the coil packs failing to fire with power, signal, and ground.

Is there somethign I'm not thinking about, or something I'm missing?

your logic sounds about right. you traced it all the way till it stops somewhere between the last place you had power and the place you dont is the problem. in this case its most likely the coil packs.

Just a stab in the dark, but check your grounds and re check everything again. Mine didn't spark, but it was just a bad igniter. Hope you get it sorted out. Wrong ECU?

I would think you might have the wrong ecu, Try checking timing, and the grounds. And maybe your CAS is bad?

Good luck,-Jon

Traced it to a broken wire just past the ignitor. I guess it wasn't sending a strong enough signal to the coil packs to make them work. IT was sending a signal though, becase my test lamp was detecting it.
