I was told there is a switch located somewhere to lockout usage of the trunk release next to the drivers seat. Where might I find the lockout switch? I dug around the trunk and looked in all the itnerior compartments only to come up short.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.~Kris

I want to say that it is on the latch itself. If you open your trunk and look down at the latch, you will see a little lever that sits horizontal. It is maybe only 1/4" long, so it is small. I know that when my trunk latch on my Maxima was not aligned and I could not open the trunk, I had to fit through the trunk to open it by hitting that lever. So, maybe pushing the lever down will lock the trunk.

If you cannot find it, or what I am talking about is not the remote trunk lockout switch, you could always disable the cable at the actual trunk switch next to your driver's side seat. I think it is just plain and simply held on by a 10mm nut. Or you could disable the line at the latch area....

I want to enable the lever, the previous owner disabled it I believe and so I cannot open it from inside the car, I have to get out and use the key.

Is there any "tension" on the lever when you pull it, or does it feel like you are just lifting the lever and it is not "pulling" the trunk cable?
