S14 Rear Strut tower

I want to put a strut bar for my rear but I have a few problems:

1) can't find them. I found cusco but they are way over priced.. IMO

2) What does that rubber/foam thing that stays on the bolts do?

is it so the vibration/sound is kept to a minimal inside the cabin?

I also read the FAQ in the old 240.org. It has directions to build your own....

On that, I was wonderring if anyone has actually followed the directions? and if so how did they turn out? did cutting the metal have any negetive effect on the car at all???

I see the rear strut bars for S13 but I never see them for S14... does anyone know if the S13 rear strut bar will fit a S14?????

I heard that the S14s had something of a built-in rear strut bar from the factory...

Anyone know the deal on this?

only SE's have rear strut bar if i'm correct...

Yes, but you may as well just make one or buy one for all that work.

Sankoo...All MIghty One! would you happen to know where I can find the upper and lower tie bar for S14 (for cheap) preferably under $60???if not it's cool

what do you mean Tie Bar? You mean Tie Rods?

I don't think so..(I prolly am calling it with the wrong name). U know the bar that connects the 2 tie rods together...under the car....I don't know how to explain it but it stiffens up the rear end.

ok..so I was right.....I have been looking and looking but I have not found them anywhere..cept CUSCO rear upper and I do not want or have the money to pay $100+ for it. check and see if you can find some somewhere... and If I find it then I will let you know!

I could be TOTALLY wrong on this, but I thought since our driving wheels are in the rear we don't have a multilink rear suspension to use a tie bar.

Again I could be really wrong.

Does anyone have a strut bar on the rear of their S14 that they can throw up here. Because my rear strut towers are kind set into the rear, like a couple inches deep, plus I got that carpeting thing in the rear with speakers in it.

Did the base models come with speakers in the rear, cause when I got my car it had aftermarket speakers all around, but it didn't look like it came like that from the factory.
