first of all, thanks to all who helped me by posting under my previous thread some months back regarding front brake rotor and pad install.

Now, currently, i hear brake squeal coming from the back left rear wheel which changes pitch when i step on the brakes.

Now even though the pads look to be still thick they seem to be the same ones for about 3 years maybe so i want to change them.

i quickly removed the rear wheel and took a look, and was puzzled since it is different from the front (duh) so would the procedure be the same as in the front?

help is appreciated, thanks!!

the rear brake calipers come out the same as the front one, but you must release the hand brake first.

if your pads are still "thick" after 3 years, either your sliding pin is seized or you have a seized rear caliper.

what would be the best way to diagnose a seized rear caliper and fix it so i can look into it when i attempt to replace the rear pads.

thanks
