Its not so hard if you simply buy R33 E-brake cables from vendors like mynismo.com then its just a direct bolt on. Its like $100 for a pair.r3v_v3ng3 wrote:get the whole rear hub, hub assembly/brakes and the parking brake out of 90 and up NA 300zx. if you already don't have 5 lug then your in luck. it will actually bolt right up on your stock KA axles. probably the hardest(meaning time consuming) is shortening the parking cable.
i dunno if its a good idea to be using the parking brake on drifting though because the brake shoes are very thin.
there is a difference though, the shoes on the 300zx is only used as a parking brake compare to a rear drum brake setup which is used for braking and parking brake so the 300zx parking brake shoes are very thin.00selimited wrote:
As far as the brake shoes being thin you have to realize that most brake shoes are like that, they are never as thick as brake pads. The 300ZX rear shoes are fine for drifting, if thats not enough mynismo.com sells a better upgraded Project Mu rear brake shoes specifically for this.
Ever look at a shoe set on a Honda Civic? Those things are about the same size and its used as a service brake. The drums are about the same size as well, tiny little thing it is. The rear brakes do very little even as a service brake, most of the braking is done up front anyways. When you drift you arent supposed to drag the brake, you use it to initiate a drift not drag it across the track, its ok to use them for initiating a drift though. And if thats not enough, like i said there is always project Mu brake shoes to offer high temperature usage if stock ones are glazing on you.r3v_v3ng3 wrote:there is a difference though, the shoes on the 300zx is only used as a parking brake compare to a rear drum brake setup which is used for braking and parking brake so the 300zx parking brake shoes are very thin.
