Wondering if anyone else has had any discrepencies with the accuracy of it. I've put a stock 98 water temp sensor in place of the rb sensor. Hooked it up.

Lets say I leave the car for the night , about say 10 + hours of no running inside the garage, it should be cold. When I start up the car, about 1 minute later, its already at the bottom line, and I have dual 12" permacool fans runnin on ignition, so they're already on when im warming up the thing.

It also seems like as I run the car, sometimes it runs a little hot like.... 6/10th. instead of 1/2 middle. Most of the time it stays at 1/2 but when it heats up to 6/10th i turn on the heater and it seems to be cooling it down to 1/2. It doesn't get that hot in san francisco, about 75 degrees on hot days.

Does it seem like my cluster is runnin off? I had it originnaly connected to a wrong wire and it shot up, but never got stuck, it always returns the needle to the pin at the bottom.

BTW no stock fan clutch cuz it doesn't fit, no shroud, but dual 12" permacools.

or maybe theres something else im doing or have done wrong?

I replaced the water pump, but theres no fan clutch/fan on it cuz thers no room. The belt seems to be relatively tight, i give it about 1/2" play if i remember correctly. I pretty much tighten all my belts the same and i've never had problems in the past.

The temp sensor for the gauge is different for the rb25 from the KA. You have to swap in your KA sensor for it to read properly.

thats what i did i think. I got the (12/14 mm) bolt with a spade connector on top. It has a cylinder looking metal end that just sticks into the same housinig where the thermostat sits .

Well i sold my motor before gettin the sensor, but i ordered another one from an autoparts store and put that one in (1998 240sx one) in the rb housing.

FYI: It doesn't take an engine long to warm up. That seems about right to me, about as long as mine takes to warm up.

My gauge also reads about 6/10th, a little above half-way. Not too much of a worry to me.

I have one 12'' fan on my s14 rb20det and it takes forever to warm up. at idle, i would say about 7-10 minutes. my fan is also iginition hot. on the other hand, my s13 ka24e is at operating temp in about 2 minutes.
