Okay so I'm new to the whole rb thing and I recently bought a rb20 swap for my s14. The problem is that it will not start!!
What it does: turns over and over and over but does not actually start. If I advance or retard timing it will backfire through exhaust or intake but that's all it does.
What I've done so far:
Check spark and each coil is getting one injectors are working as well. I can spin the cas and see each one squirt fuel out. I've tried using starting fluid and nothing. Timing, I've double checked even took belt off and reinstalled every thing just to be sure. So physical timing is good. The half moon shape piece in cas is fine so that's not broke.
What might be wrong:
Have a few vacuum hoses not hooked up but have them blocked for the moment.
The two sensors below intake manifold that go into the block are not hooked up bc I don't have a lower harness for transmission if that matters.
But other that every thing is good I believe.
Any idea??? I'm stumped and need this car running.

check the flow of the fuel lines? maybe they are reversed. stupid but happens sometimes. try and unplug the maf and see if it will start too.

I believe the fuel lines are correct but just to be sure fuel supply goes before the regulator, and return line is after? And I've tried the maf thing still doing the same thing. I also checked compression and all 6 read around 140 or more. Is that good?

My rb20 had a fuel dampener on it that looked like the fpr. So it looked like the fpr, I think the Fpr is on the right if your standing on the passenger side looking at the motor and the dampener is on the left.

Yes the fpr I'm talking about is on the right side like you said.

Check the relays make sure the switched power isn't going off when the motor is cranking. Did you wire it up yourself or a wiring harness done by someone?

The wiring was done by someone else, but idk who. That must have done wrong with the relays though bc at first my coils were not getting powered even with new relay. So I kinda rigged it for the time being so the coils could get powered and to see if it would start. But nothing. Do you know where I can find a pin out of the relays to wire it up correctly or a diagram of some sort? I've tried looking all over the place but can't find a real good answer on it. Thanks for help!

Not anymore there used to be links for wiring up a RB20 but I think they are dead now. You can try and find a FSM it might have the info in it.
