Wow, I haven't posted in a loooong time.

Anyway, I have a PS leak and am looking at replacing the high pressure hose with a SS one, and it seems most remove the sensor there and it apparently as is just bumps up the idle during turns. By removing this I assume my check engine light will come on correct? Is there a way to fool the system? If not then what line would I have to buy the not bypass this sensor as i need a clear light for smog in CA.

Thanks for any input!

The PS fluid switch isn't a sensor. It simply either completes a circuit (pressure is high, wheel must be at full lock) or it leaves the circuit open (pressure low, wheel must not be at full lock) Also, looking at the FSM, the power steering switch is a non-detectible item for the ECM. You should be good to go just straight unplugging it and not having a CEL tossed. If you're paranoid about it, just unplug it temporarily and see if you get a CEL.

Anytime. Which replacement hose are you using? I have the fuji-spl line on mine and it's a nice little item.

Yea I was looking at either the Fujii or the ISIS.

I had the Fujii guys make a custom one for my maxima. I needed a resistor on that but it was an 03, so it might be different. If you do get a cel, just measure the resistance across the sensor and put the appropriate resistor in the circuit.
