My p/s is leaking but I can't seem to pinpoint the exact location of the leak. is there any way to do a leak test? or common places it tends to leak from? and the engine is bone stock so i can't blame it on some mod, and i know its the p/s because that's the only fluid thats draining like crazy, and every time it runs low it makes that "boat" sound. any help will do. thank you.

I had a 'oil pan' leak that turned out to be the power steering.

Both the wire clamps that held the larger rubber hose from the reservoir to the pump were not really clamping down.

I'd hit it all with some simple green and rinse it well. Then do a full turn left hold for 10 secs and then a full turn right and hold for 10 secs.

Go check for leaks. They are also common in the rack.

They ALL leak, my leaked everywhere... i replaced all the claps on the rubber hoses and that fixed the problem. thankfully i didn't have to replace any high pressure lines.

You say it's leaking fast? How often do you have to refill your reservoir?

Check and see if your high pressure line is loose. Grab onto the line that looks wrapped coming off of your ps pump and try to wiggle it around. It shouldn't budge. Or if it's bad enough, you can get a friend to sit in the car and turn the wheel and you should be able to see it leaking if it's from the high pressure hose. At an rate, I think it's a 26mm bolt holding it in, tighten that guy up. Be careful though cause it's a PIA to get to (I can't even get a socket on there), and on my KA24DE in my s13 it's easy to burn yourself on that exhaust manifold in the process. I found that a crescent wrench is pretty handy here.

Mine still leaks a tiny bit after replacing the pump and torquing things down, I think I have to replace the return hose.
