Hey, I just purchased some s14 power folding mirrors, and when I recieved them it had a pre-harness atttached inbetween the switch and the colored wiring harness. The difference between the 2 is the gauging of wire, and everything goes straight across, except the folding mirror controls. It branches off, and I have 4 wires, 2 yellow and 2 blue, both with red dots. My question is pretty straight forward. I believe this to be a for a relay. Can someone confirm what exactly this is. If need be I can take pics.

i searched and read about 5 articles between here, zilvia, and some websites. None of them had the pre harness included in pictures or instructions.

I'm confused too. Please post pics. It should be straight forward. I think mine came with pre-harness too.

You can just ignore unnecessary wires and connect necessary ones using Molex connectors from RadioShack just like I did. I had some extra wires for the heat mirror switch, but didn't do anything with them. Just figure out what you need using 12V adaptor or something.

You have a SUPER rare folding mirror switch. I've never seen it before. I mean Kanji on it. Take good care of it.

I've seen several different power folding mirror switches and wirings on them are basically the same. It's not just Nissan. Honda and Mistubish power folding mirrors work the same way too.

numbnuts240, your switch is also rare too. I thought mine's rare.

sweet. the thing with mine is, it looks exactly like my stock switch, with the addition of the folding option, but the wiring is way different as well. all it has is the colored wires coming directly off the switch, none of that extra harness stuff going on.

I'm positive that you can ignore those wires. Your power function will work just fine without them, but I wonder what they do.

The kanji is a sticker. No idea what it says, I can't read symbols. It's not that I can't just plug the colored harness into the switch it's that I have been given a piece that allows me to not cut corners so why should I. Either way I'll figure it out ad post some results if nobody knows

Left 2 characters says 'Manual' and right 2 characters says 'Automatic.'

oh cool. Thanks. I asked my boss about it, and he agreed that the higher gauge would suggest a relay or something else with higher amperage running in it, and the other wires would just be triggers. Who knows, but I'm looking for some schematics soon. I'll post up if i find any.
