Hey guys. Im sure someone has a rear strut tower bar on their S14. Am I the only one with a big *** peice of metal blocking the shock mount? Ive bought like 3 strut bars for the rear and not a damn one fits. I see where the bar needs to go, but there is a welded section of metal that prevents the bar from fitting. Ive tried to cut it off but dont really have the tools to do it. Anyway, anyone else have this problem?

IF you have a Cusco bar do this:

Take apart the bar...

Now place the mount portions of the bar on the shock towers.

Screw the bar on

It's simple once you figure it out.

Unfortunately I didnt have $200 to throw down on a name brand Cusco bar. Just have a generic one. Regarding the metal though, do you have this on your S14? Anyone have any clue what Im talking about?

Ok cool so at least its not just me. So you think I just got an inferior bar? I talked to the guy who sold it to me and he said that WAS the application for my chassis. So frustrating man, this is not the first time either you know

Yeah ... cheaper bars = cutting stuff up from what I've seen

There is a reason the Cusco costs more... superior testing, materials, quality, and fitment all come to mind.

Do you mind if I ask where you found yours? $105 is def. the lowest price by far I have heard. I found a few on Ebay for around $150 after shipping, but thats def. the cheapest. Thanks man.

Also, if you have a pic of yours I would really like to check it out. Did you have to cut holes in the plastic speaker cover that sits on the rear deck?

No... the Cusco AS bar fits like it's OEM, no cutting, moving, or even as much as a hard install.

There are two types of the bar... the AS and the OS. I believe you have been looking at the OS bar, which is superior, but the AS is cheaper.

Hey YES, did you have to cut out any metal to make that bar work? I have a 97 240SE and right where your mounts are coming out from the shock mount I have a huge welded strip of metal. That bar would DEFINATELY not work on my car without cutting that metal. You have an S14 right? What year?
