Hey all, I'm a little slow at work and deciced to post this up and get a general consensus to see which direction I should go. I've got a 97 240sx in the driveway thats basically a parts car, body is rusted beyond repair,.I've been looking to get another s14 95+ and swapping the body parts and building what I wanted. Problem is there's not that many I can find w/in driving distance thats worth it. I've found a few that had bad rear QP damage, one was flooded and starting to rust and others are priced ridculosly high. I've found a lot of s13 ( hatches and coupes) locally and have been tossing around the idea of building an s13.4.

So I just wanted to get peoples input on what I should do going forward. Keep looking for a decent S14 and swap the good parts over and run it, or say f*** it and buy an s13 and build it into an s13.4.

I know its not exactly a straight forward swap but this isnt my daily driver so i have plenty of time to feel my way through it.

I say build an S13 hatch keep sleepy eyes and use the money that you get from parting out the kouki to help fund the S13. Or build an S13.5 hatch. I love the s15 front end on a S13 hatch.

I hear ya. I really wanted the s14 style though I like the s15 fronts but they are everywhere now a days. Plus I have all of the parts about 20 feet away. If I were to go s15( not ruling it out completly) it wouldn't be cheap. For it to look decent I would need oem hood, fenders, lights, bumper and core support.

I'm more of a fan of the S14 chassis for handling purposes. S13's tend to understeer quite badly (unless you're using drifting techniques like handbrake and clutch kicking) but at that point you can make a yugo oversteer. S14's are a much more balanced and neutral handling car. And no I'm not just saying this because uncle Keiichi said it on the Drift Bible. And yes I have owned both. So my vote would be to stay with an S14 if you can find one for the right price.
