I'm going to build a little extra power whilst upgrading all the important areas of the car...before I drop in an SR20. I'm not going to drop any cash into an engine that I plan on discarding (KA), so nothing serious. Probz just a header, high flow cat, cat-back, and a 50-shot.

What would you think the maximum power handling capability is for an OE-spec clutch assembly?

Thanks and stuff.

You may feel some slipping with that 50 shot. and exedy stage 1 should hold a 50 shot tho

Yeah, I know I could go with a better clutch, but, as I said, I won't be doing much to this engine (trans included).

What I'm really looking for is a numerical value. What amount of torque could an OE-spec'ed clutch be able to handle, within reason? I completely understand that an OE part is designed for an OE setup, but I'm simply looking to find that specified area of balance between power and wear.

...I forgot to add cams to the list of quick/easy add-ons. I'll most likely go with the cheap 240/232 setup...might try the 248/232 with cam gear correction since I have both.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sweet.

That is about what I was thinking, somewhere around 200 is fine.

I'll try using the cam setup to increase horsepower and lower torque.
