Hey guys,

Car specs 1995 240sx 5 spd

Well here it goes. My car started giving me problems with starting recently.

Here are the symptoms.

About two weeks ago I get into my car after work and turn the key on and nothing. I get full power, battery is good, all fuses are good. A relay by my left foot clicks, but the starter does nothing at all. Wont even click or crank.

Funny thing is I can bump start the car and it fires up.

Now it works on and off recently. The start problem seems to be related to heat or driving as I could start the car in the morning but if i stopped somewhere after driving it wouldnt start for me. same symptoms as above.

Now its to the point where the car wont do its magical "I feel like starting for you today" The only way now I can get it to run is by bump starting it.

The clutch interlock switch has been perma linked together so it is not that.

I had a aftermarket alarm system and I thought it was that. So I took the liberty of removing it paying extra attention to join wires on the ignition harness what where cut ( Black/yellow) everything else was simply tapped into.

Im stumped guys please help me out

Hit the starter and solenoid next time it doesnt start. If you have given it a battery boost and it didnt start, it is probably the starter.

look in my signature for tutorial on starting

Mine does the same thing. I played with the ignition wires and it went away for awhile but it's back again. G/L

I second vancouverbc post. Sounds like a starter. do his test and you'll know if its the starter

I agree. It may not be the starter itself, but the solenoid attached to it. Either way, its all one unit.
