ok well i bought a dohc s14 mafs on accident on here because i didn't word my ad right so i received an s14 i believe it to be since it's plastic as opposed to metal. So i'm basically wondering if il'll be able to run it any way or if i'm screwed and should start looking for an s13 one. let me know if there's a write up on it as well i searched but didn't find anything.thanks

i think its better for you to use a z32-t mafs instead and resell the s14mafs on ebay.

if you have a stock ecu, you have to use the MAFS from the sohc, if you have an safc2 or equivalent(tuned ecu for z32, & others), then you can use a z32 mafs.

Simple answer,

If its a DOHC s14 maf it will work on your DOHC S-13. Now if you were trying to put in a SOHC maf on a DOHC you would need the SAFC to correct for the voltages.

thanks that's all i needed to know. it's just that the plug is different so i didn't know if there'd be any issues.

if you used the S14 DOHC wiring harness + S14 ecu, you can use the S14 MAFS, if you used the S13 DOHC wiring harness + ecu, you have to use a S13 DOHC MAFS as those aren't the same, at least as far as i know.(physically those aren't the same, as far as the ecu bein able to read the newer, doubt so.)

An S14 MAF on an S13 wont work.... Even if they are both for the DOHC. So don't let the seller try to let you think it will. S13 and S14 DOHC MAF's are different in design, as well as programming in the ECU.

You will have to change the in/out setting on the SAFC to work.

I believe stock in/out on the S13 DOHC is 5/5 . You will have to put it as 6 in / 5 out for the S14 DOHC MAF to work on the S13 DOHC engine.

This is not guaranteed, but that's what I had to do on mine to make it work. The S14 MAF is a little bigger, and let me run a bit more boost without the MAF going crazy on me. So that's a plus.

Let me know if this helps! If not, put the In/Out settings as 5 in / 6 out.

the ecu doesnt decifer the maf, it will work! Plus u have safc II if it dont. I am not trying to screw u round nor was I when I sold it. I am running a s13 ecu in my car right now and before I upgraded to q45 maf it worked!!! If the harness is diferent, just wire it in I sent you the plugs as well! I am not tryin to sound defensive but it feels like people are thinking I screwed u over!
