I wanna change the 95' lights to the 97' style lights...I've heard that if you do that you have to change the hood as well. May I get information as to where they sell this, and where to get it done as well? Also, how about HIDs? Thanks...

There are no real HID conversions for the s14.... sorry.

The 97-98 headlights will require a LOT more than a new hood. You will need the headlights, hood, bumper, grill, corner lenses, AND fenders!!!!!

For the amount of cash you'd spend to do the conversion... you would be FAR better off buying a complete strawberry face conversion (Silvia s15). The entire kit is only $1500 or so.... with a front bumper of your choice. Check out AfterDarkTuning (when they finally open up;) ) he will be selling the kit!

I mean.. to the best of my knowledge there is NO HID conversion for the s14. I have never heard of an ACTUAL HID kit made for this car. If your friend has one.... it's news to me. Where did he get it.... can you please provide a link so we can see the product you are referring to?

There are several 'kits' that claim to be HID "type" lights, and they are nothing more than replacement bulbs. A true HID headlight requires an electrical upgrade and new lenses. Anything else isn't really HID.

There are several HID kits available, but they are universal kits made to work with a specific bulb type, say 9003. These will work, but you loose your highbeam because the new bulb is a single filament. The stock lens is also not designed for HID use and the beam pattern sucks. 97-98s work better since they have projectors, but you still have drawbacks.

Yups...i jes bought a HID kit for my 97 and they suck. I need to advice the angle of the bulb cuz its messing up the projection of the light. Instead of having a beam pointed to the front of the car, I have a circle projection of a light.

This is my point exctly... without lenses you will not have the proper light diffraction for HID.

when he popped open the hood to show me his engine, i saw the amplifier boxes with the wires connecting to his light bulbs. http://www.i-m-racing.com/new80hidligc.html The setup looked like that. His bro gave it to him brand new...i was like WTF?! anyway..the quality of the light wasn't as good as i expected from a real HID kit...it looked like a very bright imitation "HID" bulb. nothing like the stuff on BMWs. Like R240NA said, the headlights just weren't designed for HID

OR!!!

Like I said from the beginning... it ISN'T a true HID conversion!!!! Yes the bulbs are probably HID and the electrical was upgraded, but the LENSES are NOT. This all equates to: NOT a true HID!!! :D
