Hi guys, I just bought and installed a VIS CF Hood. I've heard good things about VIS and the quality is indeed good; however the hood won't close. The metal hook is able to keep the hood in place just that when I press it won't "click" and lock into place like before (reverse of releasing the hood latch, in case I am still unclear). Any ideas on how to adjust for this?

Try adjusting the latch on the rad support it prolly needs to be closer toward the hood....and/or try adjusting the two rubber stops on either side of the rad support that support the front of the hood they might need to be screwed in a little.

^ i agree, but if it lines up with the fenders n lights then just mess with the latch, and dont worry about the rubber stops....

Screw the latch. Get hood pins. Much safer.

Yes when I press it down it lines up with fenders and lights, just won't click into place. And I don't really get which latch you're talking about?

The hood latch is what is attached to the radiator support. It is what the metal ring on the hood latches into. It is bolted to the radiator support but the holes are slotted so that it allows for adjustment up and down. Loosend the bolts and move the latch upward toward the hood and re-tighten. This should now allow the hood to latch. If the hood is sitting above the fenders in the closed position then the latch needs to be moved down and the rubber bumpers that are on either end of the radiator support need to be screwed in more which will lower them. The rubber pieces are really what line the hood up with the fenders.

I removed the rubber pieces it still won't close. It doesn't look like anything in the compartment is in the way. Rather it feels like I simply cannot press down on the latch. When I use a screw driver and apply pressure the latch could rotate, just won't lock into place. Any more ideas? And yes I know about hood pins. But no use installing them right now when the latch won't even close, right?

What they are asking you to do and I agree, is to loosen the bolts on the hood latch (the latch that accepts the hook (striker) on the hood) and adjust it up, or towards the sky. Then tighten up the bolts and see if it latches.

Did you remove a factory metal hood, or are you replacing after body work?
