My keys got stuck on the ignition and doesn't wanna come out at all. it happened for the 1st time yesterday after running a "red cable" from the batt all the way trough the trunk to install my speakers. I went to take the keys off and I couldn't. I tilt the steering wheels and keys came off. Drove to a friends house and keys got stuck again but haven't been able to taken em' off since then. all this happened yesterday.

Does anybody has an Idea what could be the problem before spending an eyeball on a locksmith? Mines is an 95 s14 with an SR20 red top on it. Also, it was automatic before doing the swap. Any help will be appreciate it.

found out what was the problem and it was the (neutral safety switch) which is located "at least on a S14 with Auto transmission" right behing where the shifter is at. Its a little cilindrical plastic tube with a gold pin "believe that was the color" that has a hook where gets hooked up to the Auto shifter.

Well. when I got the swap done (auto to manual sr20) that neutral safety switch was pointing towards the shifter so Im guessing while shifting to 3rd or something I must hit it and caused that pin to get out of place and not letting me to take out keys off ignition.

All you gotta do is hold that clear cylindrical plastic tube with 1 hand, and pull the gold pin that has a little hook and its about 3" long with the other hand towards you. Problem fixed, Now you will be able to take keys off ignition.

To avoid this happen again, put that neutral safety switch right behind the cigarette door "that lil door next to the car lighter". If it does happen again, now all you gotta do is take out that cigarette door and pull that pin towards you instead of removing all that crap on the middle console to get to it.

P.S: sorry for my grammar, english is my 2nd language lol working on it tho : )
