Post

Hello, this is my first ever post on this (and my first Nissan, I came from a DC2 Integra :gapteeth: ) , well let's put it like this, I've had the car for 3 weeks and for the first week, everything was perfect! Let me add, it's a 96 S14, AC/PS, full interior, all that.

Well, my car started to bog, shake and die on me. I heard this was a common problem with 240's and the culprit was the MAF sensor. SO, i went out and bought a new MAF (used but it came out of a running s14) and my problem is still there.

Thought it was the IACV, cleaned it, idle got better but problem was still there.

Checked injectors, grounds etc (pretty much everything fuel related) but the problem is still there!

Now, i will tell you this, the wires going to the MAF have been cut and we wired up new ones because the MAF i bought came with the pigtail. NOW here is where it gets good. When i bought the car, it came with like 5 different cables that are in the path of the MAF sensor (harness). The colors are: Blue/White, Black, Black/White, Black/Tan and White.

The MAF i bought has Orange, Black/Grey, White/Red... Now, my question is, what am I doing wrong? Lol. I'm not really good at reading the FSM. I just hope someone has been in the same position as me before and can help me out. THANKS!

Before you replace parts, try disconnecting them and seeing if things change. Unplug the tps. Then see if it goes over 2k. It's a 96, if you can get a scanner, check the codes.
