We all see the questions on here a million times... will this year motor or transmission work in this year car. So i guess its been answered before, but i just finished my swap and thought i would share some knowledge with everyone else.. This is what i did and so far it works really good..

Putting a 1995+ ka24de obd2 motor into a 91-94 ka24de OBD1 240

Remove old motor

what you need from old motor: intake manifold with rail along back of block ( has 2 plugs) exhaust manifold- different collecter( with egr tube) distributor ( obd2 uses internal coil) knock sensor on pass side of block under intake manifold

What you need new: Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets o-ring type gasket for exhaust mani to downpipeRECOMENDED: Plugs, wires, cap and rotor belts, clutch and flywheel( if nessecary)

Procedure: Remove intake and exhaust manifolds from new motor Remove old gasket materials Install knock sensor as removed from old motor INstal intake manifold with new gasket Note there is only one hole on the back of the new block.. i only used one bolt to hold plate on but you may want to drill/tap a few to hold plate securly onto head Install new plugs and wires Replace distributor with the old one Install clutch and flywheel as specified in FSM

INSTALL NEW MOTOR AS IS I found it difficult to get motor alligned on transmission so heres a few tricks to ease install: Remove both motor mounts from block ( 4x 14 mm bolts each) Leave exhaust manifold off giving you room to work Once motor is attached to transmission with starter, jack both motor and transmission up to install the motor mounts. Install exhaust manifold with new gaskets hook up egr tube, difficult but not impossible Install down pipe to exhaust manifold using new O-rings Hook up harness, connect all belts and hoses Refill all fluids and finish swap as removed, only in reverse order

Another problem was timing. Set timing as stated in fsm. I had to shave a little off of the distributor where you adjust timing to clear a bolt on the head. It was sucessful, but i don't want you to mess up your cars or anything.

AS for compatibility... i have an 89 manuals trans connected to a 95 head/block with 93 manifolds and distributor run by a 93 automatic ecu. I believe that everything will work with everything.. thats another reason i love these cars...

So there you go.. not much but this should answer every question about this year motor or transmission into this car.. IT ALL WORKS TOGETHER...

thank you, its about time we got one of these, and i motion for this to be a sticky

only thing i wanna note is, you can use whatever knocksensor. They may have different Nissan partcodes, but they have the same partnumber.

also i know i always say this, because i was pissed because i had already painted everything up when i realized if you wanna reuse your S13 AC compressor you need to use the S13 AC bracket.

i actually left the 95 a/c compressor on the motor when i dropped iot in.. it didnt hit or anything. i havent hooked it up yet, but the two lines match up, so i assume it will work..

95 compressor only works with the 95 or S14 mounting bracket, or else only two holes line up, and the compressor sit up at a serious c***-eyed angle

no problem actually putting it in with a compressor, its just that if you do the simple and legal swap you dont vent your AC line, and thus you re-use the S13 compressor
