S14 KA24de electrical and idling issue

Recently i was driving my car a, s14 ka24de obdII, and suddenly tremendous heat began to flow by the pedals. When i pulled over my relay box had a mess of smoke but nothing was melted.

Now it idles below and over the normal limit.The dash lights do dim as the motor idles.the car turns on finehead and tail lights seem to be working

I was wondering what problems could i be facing and any advice i could use to resolve this problem
