S14 KA into S13

I'm prepping a s14 ka24 to drop into my s13 hatch. i know the dist. & exhaust need to be swapped from the old engine but why does the intake need to be swapped? i have done the swapping of the parts already but when i tried to put the lower plenum onto the top half of the intake it wouldnt line up on the front stud. i was told to use the lower from the s14... is this correct? and if so why not use the whole intake from the s14 anyway?

Use an entire s13 intake mani, its done to match the plugs on the s13 harness.

it wouldnt mount there is a black box on the side of the block not sure what it is.. should i remove it?

Take a pic or something, not sure what it is, cause it should mount with no problem.

it was the box for the pcv tubing under the upper intake manifold switched the... also there are other things that need to be switcher other than just the manifolds and dist. you have to switch the motor mount brackets as well and a s14 trans wont swap i don't think but i got it running just some minor tweaks and i get my car back

Motor mounts are the same and S14 MT is the same.

wouldnt mount had to use the s13 brackets and the sensors on the trans are different

Well yeah the sensors are different, need to use S13 ones, but the transmission is the same.

got engine in egr blocked off, unnecessary vacuum removed, iacv hooked up correctly, pcv hooked up correctly i cant hear any vacuum leaks, but i'm having issues with the idle... it won't unless i actually block off the iacv and it'll start and run at 2000rmp and then idle if i rev it it'll drop off start sputter and quit... with iacv hooked up it just won't at all, real rough and shut off... i read that i need to use the temp sensors from the s13
