The GReddy 4-2-1 header I previously had on snapped at the collector, so it's time to get a new one. Originally I thought of going with an OEM one, but that's getting harder to find than usual, since none of the junkyards in my area have anything close to a car with a KA engine. So what headers would you recommend? I have to stay in the $100-$200 range, otherwise I would have gone with Hotshot headers.

What I've found to be good so far are these Megan 4-1 headers.

Do you guys have any opinions on it? It seems to be a good find, and at $170, it seems to be good. Too good, maybe.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Ive never seen that megan header before, its nice to see more headers coming out for ka although some of the designs are poor imho. The megan in particular, material/construction look good but the primaries are very unequal. In my honest opinion, the obx de header 4-2-1 is better and about the same price. The obx primaries arent that great, with that crossover #4 but id take one over this megan.

The best production non custom header design i have seen for the ka24de is the pacesetter. This is a true equal length long primary 4-1 header. Ive never used one of these headers personally but ive heard of problems with fitment/cracking just like all. The pacesetter also has somewhat small diameter primaries and is painted steel only, as far as i know.

So its sort of a toss up, but if i were in your shoes id be ordering an obx.

For what it's worth, I've heard less bad stuff about the OBX than the Pacesetter as far as quality goes. Don't know much about the Megan Racing header.

I guess getting the car back on the road in proper driving condition is a priority. It's too bad you can't save up a bit more for a Hotshot. I'm also curious to see how the brand new DC Sports piece turns out.

S&S headers have some good quality headers. You also have an option of coating em, but its more money.

Actually... I might be going with the new DC Sports Header. The only thing now is time. I have an event on January 15th, and so far I can't find any for S14 KA's. All I see is 91-94. Do old DE headers work on new DE headers?

Do a search. Theres something about O2 sensors you'll want to figure out before ordering it.

I'm not sure exactly what to look for. But I did a search on Zilvia, and there was a thread that asked if a particular header was for an S13 or an S14. He got replys saying it was for an S13 because EGR tubing on S13 KA's are bent, and the EGR tubing on S14 KA's are straight. Can someone confirm and explain this?

Hotshot makes a header that fits the S14. I have one on my car. It's high quality with nice welds and comes coated. However, I did have trouble with getting a good seal between it and the dummy cat.

There is a difference in the EGR tube between the S13 and the S14. The S13 tube gones in at an angle, while the S14 goes in straight.

If you have a '95 240sx, then you need to determine if the cat beneath the driver's seat is a dummy cat or not. If it is, then you can just install the header, put both o2 sensors in the header and everything will be happy. You may want to consider replacing the dummy cat with a real one.

If you have an OBD2 (end of 95+) car, then you will need to plug the 2nd o2 hole in the header. I think it comes with a bolt to do this, and you will need to have an o2 bung (also included with the hotshot) welded behind the 2nd cat. If you do this, the oem o2 sensor wires will not be long enough to reach to the new location. You can either splice the wires and add more to them yourself, or you can look for the replacement sensor made by Bosch, which comes with enough wire to reach behind that cat. I found this out by accident when I had to replace my 2nd sensor.
