S14 JDM foglights question

Hello all. I have a 95 240sx. Got a pair of JDM fogs but there are two problems. The plugs where i need to connect them are there on one side but not the other. When i plugged the one that was there in, it didnt light up so is this due to it being a base class?

My friends ghetto rigged it before to the fuses inside to the cd player so they were always on. I dont want it to be like this. its annoying lol. A few people said connect it to a switch but i am just wondering what all of you have out there.
