I have a 1995 s14 automatic. I recently purchased a clip of a manual s14 with an sr20det. My question is, can i use the ECM/ECU that came with the clip in my 95. The car is going from a k24de automatic to an sr20det manual. It makes sense that this would work, has anyone done this?

Yes you have to, you can't use your ka ecu since they're for different engines.

No offence, but the reason alot of people won't answer is because this is a question. But everyone was at one time, right? Are you doing the swap yourself? What other plans do you have for your car? Just curious, because as I said in your fuse box thread, I'm building the same engine right now.

Are you sure you don't want to sell me your gauge cluster & climate control?

Ok, well, great now i need to know what wires to splice...Yeah man im totally doing this myself.... its fun and frustrating.sorry man, im gonna use whatever I can from that clip, i want the car to be clean and a sleeper yet fast as all get up. But i do have a buyer for all the RHD stuff, If i do not have to use the gauges your welcome to buy them.... Iam unsure if i will use the TEIN coilovers or the LSD, i heard they are fun upgrades, but im just dying to get my car running.....

Not sure is this will help all that much since it's for a redtop into s13 swap, but checkout http://www.heavythrottle.com/ and read their sr20 frequently asked questions article. Can't blame you for keeping the climate control & gauges though...I would, including all the rhd stuff. One good thing about having the clip(among many others) is you get all the wiring for the dash too.

Hey, I used to live on Hillcrest in Marina. Now I'm in PG. Anyway, I was searching members for local profiles when I found you and your little swap project. Anyway, If you ever need a second hand, some tools, someone to talk backroads and drink beer with, or someone to just drool on your SR20, I'd love to help. I've pulled my engine and transmission and know a little, but mostly KA stuff, not SR, so I'm probably better for drooling than actually helping. Anyway, if your interested, email me or post or something. I'm around most evenings or weekends.

Hey, that sounds like fun. Maybe we can meet sometime soon. Unfortunately, my car is running like pooh and I don't see being able to fix it up for about two months. But, we could get some cool runs in then. It works for transportation now, but no sport or fun driving. If you would like to show off what you have anytime sooner, I'd still love to check it out and could putt over to Marina. Hey, you might even be able to help with my problems or might even have parts I need left over from your swap.

How's progress with the swap? Are you still taking stuff apart, cleaning stuff, or finally putting things back together?

Yeah, lot's of FF and RICE in town and around parking lots. I say good, keep them there and stay off my backroads. When I'm out driving I never see them. I end up seeing more BMW's Porches and motorcycles. Now they can make for a fun chase!

Hello again. How's your swap? Hey, I need a little help. I think my TPS went bad. I think I have to buy a replacement. I'm guessing you might have one you may want to sell since you're swapping engines. Anyway, mine was like a six prong one with two 3 prong plugs. Throttle posistion sensor with Throttle posistion switch (I gather this is from an automatic, but could be all newer 240s) Do you have one like that? What I really want to do is put a working one on and just see if that fixes my problems. So, with you being local, I was thinking, maybe you could help me with the diagnosis by letting me borrow yours (even helpin gme put it on and test drive with it) and then if it fixes my problems, either sell it to me, or take it back and I'll know for sure that I should just buy a new one. What do you think? Can ya help? If not, well, okay, but still, when are we gonna meet up and show off our engines or go for a cruise?

PS is communicating with another member this way considered a thread jack? I'm not familiar with threads and thread etiquite.
